Darkest Day

Paul Johanis

Darkest Day

In the darkness of this little room, there’s nothing left to see

All of life’s joy is now turned to gloom and all is misery

Was a time when we were young and life was so carefree

Then the day comes when all is taken and it all just fades away

Weep, weep into the night

Wail, wail in the morning light

Cry, cry, cry, till your tears run dry

Have you seen your darkest day

Face down lying on the cold hard floor a deadweight crushing me

Empty hearted behind closed doors in quiet agony

Goodbye dream child, my heart’s delight, go to your destiny

On this dread day when all is scattered and only pain will stay

Lalala, lalala

When the day comes when all is broken there’s nothing left to say
