Story

Winter activity for male teens in the old west end, not sanctioned by adults. I had never seen anything similar described elsewhere until I read Bob Dylan's autobiography recently, in which he states that this was also being done in northern Minnesota when he was growing up. See my blog for more details!

Lyrics

Bunkin’, bunkin’ on Ladouceur (2)

When the cold night wind blows

All the streets are covered in snow

We were slipping and sliding

Just juking and jiving

Got to get up on your feet

And slide on down the street, and go

Bunkin’, bunkin’ on Ladouceur (4)

Here comes an old Cadillac

Hide yourself around the back

We were slipping and sliding

Just juking and jiving

Got to get up on your feet

And slide on down the street, and go

Bunkin’, bunkin’ on Ladouceur (4)

The man don’t like when you’re there

Tries to swerve to make you scared

We were slipping and sliding

Just juking and jiving

Got to get up on your feet

And slide on down the street, and go

Bunkin’, bunkin’ on Ladouceur (4)
